No matter what resolution you select, you will never have enough room on your desktop. Working with multiple windows at the same time will clutter the screen, making it difficult to finish a project. GiMeSpace Desktop Extender 3D will expand the space on your desktop. Using a series of simple shortcut keys, you will be able to place your windows "outside" the screen and scroll from one to another in a comfortable manner.

GiMeSpace Desktop Extender 3D uses the Aero theme you would find in Windows 7 or Vista, so you will not be able to run it on older versions, such as Win XP or Win 2000. But this is not a serious drawback because there is a standard version of the software which will work fine with older Windows versions.

You will not notice any differences after running the application. Its general settings window can be accessed from the system tray icon. The options you will find here are not many, but they are very well explained. If you experiment with them for a few minutes, you will be able to make use of more desktop options in a comfortable manner. There are multiple navigation tabs on the settings window, but the core options can be found under the first one.

You can enable or disable different ways to scroll on your virtual desktop and make certain adjustments, by clicking check boxes or dragging sliders. It is possible to scroll horizontally or vertically by using hot keys, holding down a combination of keys and moving the mouse cursor or simply moving it to the edges of the screen. The desktop wallpaper will not be affected, so it will seem like you are moving all the windows (active or not) off the screen.

You can zoom out, to see a larger area of the virtual desktop, by using a hot key. If you hold down this hot key and move your mouse, you can adjust a higher or lower zoom level. When zoomed out, the background is black and the windows are smaller. They can be moved anywhere in this virtual space by simply clicking and dragging on their title bars.

Right clicking the system tray icon will reveal a few options for saving or restoring the positions of the windows, arranging them automatically, one next to the other, setting a different size for the virtual desktop and more.

Pros

While the software is running, you will have a larger working area. You may open any number of windows and place them outside the screen. Scrolling from one to another, in any direction, is done in various ways.

Cons

When closing the program, all your minimized windows will be restored. Using GiMeSpace Desktop Extender 3D, you will have unlimited desktop space. You just need to run it and make use of its simple hot keys.
